RANGE NOTES / BUYER GUIDE
Make the waistband part of the product brief.
A branded waistband is both a visual element and a garment component. Review its artwork and its behaviour in the same development conversation.

Describe the band before reviewing the logo.
Identify the intended garment, whether the elastic is exposed or enclosed, and the required width. Provide a physical reference where possible and explain the edge feel and attachment you want.
For a collection, identify the styles that may share the elastic. A waistband suitable for one shape should still be checked in the other garments, where attachment, cut length and fit can differ.
Provide authorised artwork and a repeat.
Send the logo in a suitable artwork format with colour references and the proposed repeat length. Mark any elements that must align at the front, back or join. The team reviews how the proposed identity can be realised on the actual component.
A drawing that looks balanced as a flat strip may behave differently around a waistband. Different garment sizes can change the join and the visible part of the repeat. Check the result on the intended sample rather than approving only the screen image.
Look at the relaxed and extended states.
Artwork approval and component evaluation answer different questions. A clear logo does not establish recovery or garment fit, and a good fit does not confirm the final logo colour. Keep the two decisions connected without treating them as identical.
| Review | What to record |
|---|---|
| Width & feel | Band width, edge and material reference |
| Artwork | Authorised logo, repeat and colour |
| Extension | Measurement method and relevant evaluation |
| Garment fit | Attachment, join and cut length by size |
Carry the result into the collection.
Record the selected elastic reference with the garment specifications. Identify any style-specific differences and keep the approved artwork version aligned with the final colours and labels.
DALI’s elastic and garment capabilities support this joint review. Share the proposed band, product references and quantities so the discussion can move from a brand idea to a defined sample brief.
